Location: New Mills
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Friday: 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM (38 hours per week)
Rate of Pay: 14.99 per hour



Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Truck Instructor to oversee and deliver high-quality theory and practical training on all company trucks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all truck operators are trained, monitored, and assessed to meet legal standards, health & safety requirements, and company expectations.



Key Responsibilities:



Training & Instruction:

  • Deliver theory and practical training for all company truck types: A1, A2, A5, A6, A7, B1, D2 & P1.

  • Conduct initial training and refresher courses for all relevant employees.

  • Ensure training is up to date and aligned with current legislation and best practices.

  • Audit and monitor the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary improvements.

  • Work closely with the Training Department to uphold training standards.



Compliance & Safety:

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety regulations, particularly in relation to truck operation and training.

  • Regularly review and update company truck training documentation.

  • Monitor and assess trained operators to ensure safe and competent operation.

  • Ensure all truck pre-use checks are being completed and documented correctly.

  • Support site safety initiatives and monitor compliance with Health & Safety policies.

  • Regularly consult the Mentor website and other relevant sources for H&S updates affecting truck training.



Maintenance & Oversight:

  • Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of training equipment and trucks.

  • Conduct regular inspections and ensure all equipment meets operational and safety standards.



Requirements:

  • Must be a registered AITT and RTITB Instructor.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Flexibility with working hours - some night shifts will be required.

  • Ability to train across multiple shifts, including nights, when necessary.
