Management AccountantLocation: New TredegarPay Rate: £38,000 - £40,000

General Purpose of Role

This is a key role within the Finance Department, responsible for internal management accounting, costing activities, and supporting ad hoc requirements from the central head office. The position supports the CFO in delivering accurate and timely management reporting to meet both internal and external expectations. The role requires a proactive approach in providing financial insights to the CFO and senior managers to help drive operational and strategic decision-making.

Main Responsibilities

Finance & Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including sales accrual journals and fixed cost variance explanations, to meet group deadlines.
  • Conduct monthly standard costing rollups and variance analysis.
  • Deliver daily sales and monthly performance reporting (PBFE), including margin analysis and ad hoc reports.
  • Analyse and forecast labour costs.
  • Monitor and journal sales rebates and discounts monthly.
  • Track and analyse production usage variances (MUC).
  • Maintain customer tooling tracker and ensure accurate IFRS15 postings.
  • Support preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.
  • Update and monitor inter-company transfer pricing annually.
  • Assist with annual updates to standard labour and overhead rates.
  • Perform ad hoc financial tasks as required by the business or management.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications:

  • Experience in management accounting within a medium to large manufacturing environment.
  • Professionally qualified (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience.

Functional Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of standard costing and margin analysis.
  • Proven ability to manage tight reporting deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Analytical, goal-oriented, and capable of monitoring actions to improve business efficiency.
  • Team-oriented with a logical approach to business needs and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Strong communicator, confident in presenting and actively listening at all levels.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
