Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG24)
Pay: 103 - 110 per day
Start Date: January 2026
Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm
Contract: Long-term to permanent


About the Role
Long Term Futures is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join an independent specialist school located just outside Newark. The school supports children and young people aged 5-19 with autism and associated needs, offering a calm, therapeutic environment with small class sizes and a highly personalised curriculum.

Set in a peaceful rural location, the school focuses on supporting pupils' academic progress alongside emotional wellbeing, independence and life skills. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with young people and making a meaningful difference.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with autism and additional needs
  • Support learning, emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Monitor and record progress, behaviour and wellbeing
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and families
  • Support pupils during activities, trips and community-based learning
  • Assist with personal care where required

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Adaptable and proactive attitude
  • Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Willingness to hold or obtain an Enhanced DBS
