Taylor Stevenson are proud to be working with a large and growing logistics company who are looking for a Transport Manager to join their team based in Newark.
The right candidate must be happy to travel across all sites as and when it is needed.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the transportation of goods, ensuring efficient supply chain processes. This role requires strong organisational skills, effective communication abilities, and a drive to optimise transport operations.
Duties
- Manage and coordinate all transport activities to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Develop and implement efficient transportation strategies that align with supply chain objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of transport operations, including schedules, routes, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, and customers to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Oversee the management of transport staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Utilise Excel and other IT tools to analyse data and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards within the transport sector.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of transport functions within the overall business strategy.
Skills
- Experience working as a Transport Manager previously.
- Experience working within cold storage/ similar environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with office IT systems to support administrative tasks related to transport management.
- Proven ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
Monday-Friday
Salary- 50k-60k dependant on experience
