Senior Estimator

Location: Dublin or Newbridge

Scope of Work: A senior role within a new estimation team of a major contracting company, responsible for commercial functions and winning work across HV substations, solar farms, underground and overhead cable routes, gas pipelines and other energy infrastructure projects.

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Senior Estimator to join a leading, multi-national engineering services company in Ireland. This is a brilliant opportunity for the right individual to join a well established, highly regarded business that is experiencing growth in their energy and renewables business unit through their success in the market. This role can be based in either Dublin or Newbridge, and there is a hybrid working model available of 1-2 days per week working from home once established in the role.

With the support or the wider team, your responsibilities will include:

  • preparing accurate estimates in conjunction with the work winning team;
  • reviewing tender drawings and documents to determine the scope of works and tender deliverables;
  • attending tender start-up, mid bid and adjudication meetings and make site visits as required;
  • preparing BOQs for scopes of projects ;
  • producing enquiry schedules for suppliers and subcontractors required from the tender documentation, drawings and specifications issued; and evaluating returned quotations;
  • attending tender handover meetings; and preparing commercial documents for tender handover to projects team.


The ideal profile is someone with:

  • a minimum of 5 years experience in similar roles;
  • a degree in Quantity Surveyinr, Engineering, or a related field;
  • previous experience on energy, renewables or power projects;
  • First Principles estimating experience.
