We're partnering with a well-established, forward-thinking SME accountancy firm based near Newbury, in their search for a skilled Accounts & Tax Specialist for their growing team. You'll be providing a broad range of accounting and tax services for a diverse portfolio of clients including LTD company business owners, Sole Traders, Trusts and SME organisations in a varierty of industries.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Manage a portfolio of SME LTD companies, sole traders, private individual clients including HNWIs, partnerships & trusts - delivering a range of accountancy services including annual accounts and VAT returns
  • Prepare and submit Tax Returns.
  • Capital Gains Tax reporting for HMRC
  • Deal with income from multiple sources: employment, rental properties, dividends, capital gains, pensions, and overseas income
  • Ensure all deadlines are met and filings are squeaky clean
  • Assist with advising clients on accounts and tax planning strategies to reduce liabilities including VAT, CT, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and residency/domicile issues.
  • Keeping up to date with UK accounting and tax legislation changes
  • Spot opportunities for additional services or business development

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong background in accounts with a good knowledge of tax (likely studying towards an accountancy or tax qualification, or aiming to do so)
  • Comfortable managing your own portfolio and building solid client relationships.
  • A curious mind with a proactive mindset
  • Someone who thrives in a small team where autonomy is a given
