One of the most well-known nuclear companies in the UK is looking for senior mechanical engineers to work on some of the most prestigious projects in the sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior mechanical engineer to work on some massive project in defence/nuclear sector.

  • Job Title - Senior Mechanical Engineer
  • Location -  Newbury 2/3 days a week
  • Contract Length - 12 Months
  • Pay Rates - Up to £60.00 an hour (Inside IR35)

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to the team for you specialist area and ensure you are working to deadlines effectively
  • Make engineering decisions from a project and technical stand point
  • Act as the technical authority or lead mechanical engineer when required to do so.
  • Ensure all change are assessed and managed accordingly to project scope
  • Ensure the procedures and engineering codes are consistently met and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce and review all technical documents and approve calculations, analysis, drawings and models for design documents and technical reports.

Expected qualifications:

  • An engineering degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in working in heavily regulated sites with multiple discipline teams
  • Demonstrated experiences in covering a wide range of tasks across a range of complexities
  • Experience in managing an engineering scope
  • Chartered status preferred (DESIRED)
