With a strong leadership team, they offer specialised services across various practice areas, providing a supportive, professional, and collaborative environment.Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate specialising in Contested Probate to join a leading litigation team. This role suits an ambitious solicitor with strong technical skills in contentious probate, ready for increased responsibility, or an experienced practitioner seeking a supportive and challenging new opportunity.Key Responsibilities:
  • Handling a diverse caseload of contested probate matters, including will challenges, claims under the Inheritance Act 1975, and disputes involving estate administration.
  • Providing strategic, sensitive, and confident advice to clients throughout emotionally complex litigation.
  • Managing cases from inception through to trial, including mediation and court proceedings.
  • Collaborating effectively with Private Client and Dispute Resolution colleagues to deliver comprehensive client services.
  • Actively engaging in business development activities to enhance the firm's contested probate practice.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members.
  • Building strong and lasting client relationships through clear and personalised communication.
Requirements:
  • Solicitor with 5-8 years’ PQE specialising in contested probate.
  • ACTAPS or STEP membership, or currently pursuing membership, is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in High Court hearings and trials.
  • Proven track record in business development and client generation.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong academic background (LLB 2:1 or above).
