Mechanical Project Manager
Location: South West England (Field & Remote-Based)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £70,000 + Car Allowance/Company Vehicle + Bonus + Benefits
The Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly organised and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to take the lead on delivering multiple commercial projects across the South West. You'll be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle — from planning and procurement through to delivery and handover — ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong mechanical background and proven project leadership experience in the commercial sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the delivery of multiple mechanical projects across commercial sites (office buildings, retail units, schools, healthcare, etc.)
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
- Oversee site progress, quality control, health & safety, and compliance
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders, providing regular updates and ensuring expectations are met
- Produce and manage project documentation, including RAMS, programs of work, and handover packs
- Manage budgets, monitor costs, and report on financial performance
- Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager, ideally in commercial environments
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services
- Knowledge of current regulations and compliance standards (e.g. H&S, CDM, building regs)
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Full UK driving license (essential)
Desirable:
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification
- Experience working with design and build contracts
- Familiarity with project management software/tools (MS Project, etc.)
