We are delighted to be working in partnership with our client in Newbury, seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Psychologist to join their team. Our client is dedicated to providing high-quality services to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring their needs are met and their outcomes are optimised. They are committed to a collaborative and multi-agency approach, working closely with families, schools, and other stakeholders.

Role Overview:

As the Education Psychologist you will play a key role within the Education Psychologist in planning and implementing SEND & Inclusion delivery plans. You will lead and manage a team, working in partnership with Educational Psychologists. Your responsibilities will include the strategic development of multi-disciplinary services in line with government legislation and West Berkshire Council's approach to SEN, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be part of the Children Services Senior Management Team, contributing to the planning and implementation of SEND & Inclusion delivery plans.
  • Lead and manage a team, working in partnership with Educational Psychologists.
  • Create and develop strategic multi-disciplinary developments in line with government and West Berkshire Council's approach to SEN, Mental Health, and Wellbeing.
  • Work in partnership with the Local Authority and external agencies to ensure a streamlined approach to the delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Work in partnership with schools to ensure effective service delivery and project implementation.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with relevant government legislation.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of policies and procedures related to SEND.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND services, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Represent the organisation at relevant meetings and forums.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must hold a Psychology qualification.
  • Proven track record of service delivery in Social Care.
  • Strong commitment to working in partnership with the Local Authority and external agencies.
  • Experience in working in partnership with schools.
  • In-depth knowledge of government legislation related to SEND.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in IT.
  • Must hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car.
  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
