Senior Quantity Surveyor - Newbury (Hungerford)
Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 per annum + car allowance

Our client, a well-established main contractor with a strong presence in the South of England, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based near Newbury (Hungerford).

This is a pivotal role, ideal for a commercially astute QS who thrives on implementing structure and driving best practices. Reporting directly to a commercially strong Managing QS, the successful candidate will bring added rigour to commercial processes, contract administration, cost control, and internal reporting standards-helping to embed a culture of consistency and compliance without slowing down operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all commercial aspects of ongoing projects
  • Ensure robust contract compliance and documentation standards
  • Lead cost planning, forecasting, and budget control
  • Support the commercial team in maintaining procedural discipline
  • Liaise with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure financial targets are met

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
  • Strong knowledge of commercial processes and cost management
  • Proven ability to reinforce structure and enhance documentation standards
  • Experience within social housing, planned maintenance, or term contracts is advantageous
