Job description

Are you a dedicated Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of adults in our community? West Berkshire Council is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care Service. As an essential car user, you will be based at our Market Street Offices.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work within our Adult Social Care Service to assess and support individuals in maintaining their independence and improving their quality of life. You will work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including service users, carers, and relevant professionals, to develop personalized and outcome focused care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct holistic assessments to identify individuals' needs and develop appropriate care plans
  • Provide practical support, equipment, and adaptations to help individuals maintain their independence
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions and rehabilitation programs in line with best practice guidelines
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records and provide reports as required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A recognized degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience working within a social care setting, ideally supporting adults
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with service users, carers, and professionals
  • The ability to manage a caseload, prioritizing and organizing your work effectively
  • A commitment to promoting independence, dignity, and empowerment for individuals
