We are working with a wonderful specialist school that are looking for a dedicated Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team ASAP in a full-time basis. This school cares for young people aged 6-19 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and strives to provide them with the best possible start in life. As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will be working closely with the students, Staff and other education and psychological professionals to facilitate a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

A Mental Health Support Assistant role is perfect for someone who:

  • Has a nurturing and patient personality
  • Has previous experience working with young people (Desired but not essential)
  • Is passionate about having a positive impact on the well-being of students
  • Is looking to pursue a career in Psychology or Education

Roles and responsibilities of a Mental Health Support Assistant:

  • Deliver specialized learning plans to vulnerable students in small groups and on a 1 to 1 basis
  • Support emotional security and independence
  • Provide classroom support to teachers and aid them in delivering lesson plans
  • Liaise between parents and teachers to provide the best support possible
  • Track student progress and provide feedback to the wider support team
