Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced Best Interest Assessor to join their team based in Berkshire JOB DETAILSPAY RATE: £36,124 to £45,708 per annumWORK TYPE: PermanentWORK PATTERN: Full TimeLOCATION: Berkshire JOB SUMMARYThe Best Interest assessor assessments will relate to clients with a range of impairments including dementia, learning disability, mental health needs. JOB DESCRIPTIONThe duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

Assessments for both standard and urgent authorisations and will include best interest assessments and mental capacity assessments
To undertake DoLS assessments as tasked by the DoLS coordinator
To ensure that all records and reports are completed thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner
To promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATEThe successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

Qualified and registered in one of the relevant professions – social work, occupational therapy, nurse practitioner etc
Accredited BIA qualification with relevant refresher training
Significant experience of carrying out DoLS assessments
Knowledge of relevant legislation including Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Human Rights Act
