Jackson Hogg are proudly supporting a specialist engineering business in the Newcastle Upon Tyne area with a Project Quality Engineer position, reporting to the Quality Manager.
Project Quality Engineer Responsibilities
The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for providing embedded quality assurance and control at project level, ensuring thatprojects are delivered in compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal Quality Management System requirements.
In addition to project delivery support, the Project Quality Engineercontributes to the maintenance, improvement, and development of theQuality Management System, supporting procedure updates, document control, lessons learned, and continual improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary Quality point of contact for assigned projects.
- Support tender, contract review, and project handover activities from a Quality perspective.
- Develop, review, and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQPs), ITPs, Activity Control Plans, and inspection regimes.
- Support project gate reviews, readiness reviews, mobilisations, and demobilisations.
- Conduct or coordinate quality inspections, witnessing, and surveillance activities.
- Support FATs, SITs, mobilisation inspections, and subcontractor inspections as required.
- Verify inspection records, certificates, and quality documentation are complete, accurate, and traceable.
- Raise, manage, and track NCRs, concessions, and technical queries at project level.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action development.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions prior to close-out.
- Escalate systemic or high-risk quality issues to the Quality Manager.
- Support internal, supplier, project, and client audits.
- Prepare projects for audit and support close-out of findings.
- Contribute audit findings and lessons learned into business-wide improvement activities.
- Support maintenance of the Audit Schedule and audit records.
- Support the development, review, and update of Quality procedures, forms, and templates.
- Assist with document control, version control, and records management activities.
- Contribute to the implementation and improvement of the integrated Business Management System (IMS).
- Support the capture and integration of lessons learned into procedures and guidance.
Project Quality Engineer Requirements
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 (ISO 14001 / 45001 desirable)
- Experience in project-based engineering
- Internal or Lead Auditor training
- Experience with management system documentation and audits
