Facility Supervisor

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Salary: £28,163 - £30,060 per annum (Pay award pending)

Hours: 37 hours per week (Split shift) 6:30 - 10:30 & 14:30 - 18:00 Monday to Thursday6:30 - 10:00 & 14:30 - 18:00 Friday

The Role

You will be responsible for the security of the premises, setting alarms, general health and safety issues relating to the building, as well as a range of porterage duties. There will be a responsibility for the supervision of cleaning staff.You will be expected to be able to deal with varying workloads and the cleaning of a defined area equating to fifteen hours per week. You must be able to manage your own time.There will need to be a degree of flexibility around certain key events in the school calendar e.g., parents’ evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas, and summer fairs etc. which will be arranged at the start of the academic year. You may be expected to be available to undertake lettings for the school when required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Has good customer service skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with problems on site.
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards with the ability to undertake cleaning tasks.
  • Capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying of equipment, materials, furniture and climb ladders.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Good spoken English with the ability to communicate effectively with the public.
  • Experience of management/supervision of staff.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and how to apply them in the workplace.
  • Is self-motivated and able to work to fixed deadlines.
  • To succeed in this role, it is essential that you must be able to undertake the split shift requirements of the role.
