The CompanyNigel Wright Tech are delighted to be working with an established utilities business in their search for a Data Architect. NB - this role will require four days a week working from their office. The RoleThis is a unique and exciting role in which you would play a pivotal role in shaping and guiding the organisation's data architecture. You will collaborate with business leaders, technology stakeholders and delivery teams to design data capabilities, platforms and practises that unlock value from data. Other responsibilities include: Enterprise data strategy and architecture
  • Assist the Lead Architect in producing multi-year architectural roadmap forecasts 
  • Lead the development and continual evolution of the enterprise data architecture aligned to strategic goals 
  • Define and maintain data principles, models and standards 
Business and IT alignment
  • Align data initiatives with business capabilities, product lines and service delivery models 
  • Support prioritisation of data platform investments based on enterprise value, risk and readiness 
Platform and Integration Architecture 
  • Advise on data integration strategies including APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, event-drive streaming and master data hubs 
  • Ensure data architecture supports hybrid, multi-cloud, and on-premise system integration 
Governance and Design Authority 
  • Serve as the enterprise authority for data architecture across technology forums and design authorities 
  • Provide government oversight on data architecture components within projects, programmes and product deliveries 
The RequirementsThis is a rare opportunity, working for an innovative business with some exciting projects in the pipeline. NB - this role will require four days a week working from their office.  Key requirements include: 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience within the data field and architecture 
  • Proven experience in enterprise data architecture roles in complex, regulated environments
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, metadata, MDM and lineage 
  • Working knowledge of data integration methods (e.g. APIs, ETL tools, Azure Data Factory) 
  • Proven experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps
