Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working exclusively on behalf of a long established engineering organisation to recruit a Draughtsperson on a permanent basis.

LOCATION: Newcastle / Hybrid

SALARY: Competitive

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Permanent

ROLE SUMMARY:

As a Draughtsperson, you will be responsible for creating and managing detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings related to subsea ROV systems. Collaborating closely with engineers to develop project drawing requirements, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

DUTIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, schematics, and models of subsea trenching vehicles using CAD software.
  • Be responsible for producing fabrication drawings upon request, to the relevant standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication and installation processes.
  • Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand design specifications, and requirements for trenching vehicles.
  • Assist in modifying existing designs based on feedback from engineering teams or changes in project scope.
  • Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Review technical drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to relevant standards before final submission.
  • Calculate dimensions and material requirements.
  • Identify potential design issues or conflicts within the drawings and propose effective solutions to enhance functionality or manufacturability.
  • Provide draughting support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept through production and installation phases.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Previous experience as a Draughtsperson in a relevant field, preferably within marine engineering or subsea operations
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MathCAD and Inventor) is essential.
  • Produce drawings to BS8888.
  • Strong attention to detail with an ability to produce high-quality work to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members across various disciplines.
  • Experience producing welding, machining and assembly drawings.
