This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading, vertically integrated energy company with a growing portfolio of flexible generation and battery storage sites across the UK.You will be reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the control, operation and maintenance of electrical plant and high-voltage equipment across a portfolio of gas engine and battery energy storage sites (2-50MWe, 11kV-132kV). You’ll work collaboratively with contractors, engineering specialists and operations teams to optimise uptime and performance across multiple regions.Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all electrical plant operates safely and efficiently in line with scheduled commercial demand
  • Supporting and mentoring Area Managers on electrical systems and safety
  • Developing and optimising maintenance schedules and procedures using CMMS systems
  • Leading or supporting root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assisting in handovers from construction to operations
  • Contributing to budgeting and inventory planning for electrical spares
  • Ensuring adherence to health, safety and environmental policies

What We’re Looking For:Essential:

  • HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems up to 33kV
  • Experience in the installation, operation and maintenance of generation equipment
  • SAP (Senior Authorised Person) capabilities
  • Working knowledge of CMMS and ISO 9001 systems
  • Good communication, analytical and people management skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Exposure to voltages up to 132kV and battery storage systems
  • Control & instrumentation experience
  • Familiarity with generators such as Jenbacher, MTU or Caterpillar
  • Professional recognition (IET or equivalent)
