The role

My client is expanding their Audit & Assurance team and is looking for a qualified Audit Assistant Manager or Manager (ICAS/ACA/ACCA) to join the business. This role can be based from any of the following offices: Carlisle, Cockermouth, Dumfries, Glasgow, Hexham, Kendal, Leeds, Manchester, Maryport, Newcastle, Northallerton, Penrith, Settle, Skipton, Whitehaven, Wigton or Workington. You’ll support the Audit Senior managers and Partners in leading assignments, reviewing work, and managing client relationships while delivering a high-quality service.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.

• Review the work of Audit Seniors and Assistants, providing guidance and feedback.

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.

• Manage client relationships, acting as a key point of contact before, during and after engagements.

• Monitor budgets and timelines to ensure audits are delivered within scope.

• Identify areas for improvement and add value to client businesses through recommendations.

• Support the training and development of junior team members.

• Assist in business development activities where required.

Requirements

• ICAS / ACA / ACCA qualified.

• Proven experience leading audits within a practice environment.

• Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.

• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

• Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of mentoring junior colleagues.

• Confident communicator, able to build and maintain client relationships.

• Full UK driving licence.
