About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned PE lessons, supervising students, and ensuring they remain engaged in their learning and activities. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in sports, coaching, or education who are eager to gain classroom experience in a supportive school environment.
PE Cover Supervisor (CS) Responsibilities:
- Supervise and deliver PE lessons across different year groups in the absence of the class teacher.
- Manage student behaviour effectively, ensuring a positive and respectful learning environment.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in various sports and physical activities.
- Support the school's sports curriculum, helping students develop teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle.
- Provide guidance and motivation, fostering students’ confidence in their physical abilities.
- Assist with general classroom cover when required, ensuring a consistent learning experience.
PE Cover Supervisor (CS) Requirements:
- Previous experience in sports coaching, PE instruction, or working with young people is highly desirable.
- A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong leadership, communication, and classroom management skills.
- A passion for promoting physical well-being and teamwork among students.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
