Your new role:

As an R&D Assistant Manager, you'll manage a portfolio of R&D and incentives clients, delivering high-quality claims for Research & Development tax relief, patent box relief, and creative industry reliefs.You'll work directly with clients, often leading meetings and interviews to uncover the technical details of projects, before preparing and reviewing case study reports, claim calculations, and ensuring full HMRC compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of R&D and incentives clients from start to finish
  • Leading client meetings to discuss technical project details
  • Preparing and reviewing R&D tax relief and other incentive claims
  • Liaising with HMRC and ensuring claims meet required standards
  • Mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Collaborating with managers and directors to support business growth

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent qualification
  • OR degree in a science/technology field (e.g., engineering, software)
  • Previous experience in incentives & reliefs or R&D tax
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven people management experience
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
