Are you a proactive HR professional with a passion for people and a knack for getting things done? We’re looking for a HR Officer to join this friendly and dynamic HR team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting all aspects of the HR function within a fast-paced manufacturing/engineering environment. People are genuinely at the heart of this hugely successful business.
Ideally CIPD qualified and with solid generalist experience, you’ll bring energy, initiative, and a collaborative spirit to help deliver a people-first approach across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Preparing, analysing, and reporting on HR data to support decision-making
- Managing absence records and reporting through the HRIS
- Supporting the full recruitment cycle – from advertising to onboarding
- Leading engaging company inductions for new starters
- Handling disciplinary and grievance matters
- Coaching managers on HR related issues
- Contributing to employee engagement initiatives
- Designing and delivering training sessions related to HR policies and procedures, often 121 coaching with line managers
- Sourcing and implementing relevant training programmes
- Assisting in the development and rollout of HR policies and procedures
- Supporting HR projects and change initiatives
- Drafting job offers, contracts, job descriptions, and SOPs
- Working with the HR Manager to implement the people strategy and drive workforce engagement
- Liaising with apprenticeship providers to ensure high-quality placements
What We’re Looking For:
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification ideally, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in a generalist HR role
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication skills – confident, clear, and approachable
- A friendly, empathetic, and professional manner
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- A proactive, can-do attitude – happy to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in
