Our clientWe are delighted to be working with a highly successful global manufacturer, to recruit a Design Engineer. They have a large, high volume manufacturing plant close to Newcastle. The role will be based there, in their Technical department. This recruitment will grow the team, supporting new long term contracts. The opportunityReporting to the Technical Manager and within a collaborative and experienced team, the Design Engineer will be responsible for developing technical solutions from initial brief, through product design specification, design and development, test and validation. They will have a focus on facilitating sustainable and efficient manufacturing processesAbout youPrevious experience in the design of plastic components will be essential for this role. Injection moulding, thermoforming, extrusion and other plastics manufacturing processes would all be considered relevant.  You will be qualified in an Engineering or related subject to degree level. Candidates with HNC/ HND with significant relevant industry experience will be considered as equivalent.This role requires a small amount of international travel, as you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and customers. Experience of working within a high-volume manufacturing environment will be an advantage. As a proactive and enthusiastic Engineer you will have prior experience of working effectively in cross functional teams. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global business, known for valuing and developing its people.
