Our client is recognised by the legal 500 and is ranked in the 2023 UK Edition for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. They are looking to recruit a Solicitor/Legal Executive, ideally with previous multi track/serious injury experience.
This role is offered on a permanent basis, Monday to Friday in the Newcastle office, with hybrid working available.
About the role:
- Running a caseload of mid-value personal injury claims
- Providing knowledge of legal procedures, including issuing and service proceedings, directions timetables, ADR and trial experience in obtaining factual and expert evidence
- Liaising with counsel and experts appropriately and professionally
- Drafting schedules of loss including heads of future loss
- Reviewing files and reporting regularly to clients, team leaders etc
- Assessing cases merits against liability and gathering evidence
- Completing Schedules of Special Damages
- Issuing proceedings and proceeding through litigation to settlement or Trial
- Preparing cases for Trial including Briefs to Counsel
About you:
- Proven experience in serious injury/multi track litigation
- Knowledge of legal concepts and good drafting skills
- Strong understanding of quantum issues
- Client care skills & excellent attention to detail
- IT literate in MS Office and knowledge of time recording software
