Our client is recognised by the legal 500 and is ranked in the 2023 UK Edition for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. They are looking to recruit a Solicitor/Legal Executive, ideally with previous multi track/serious injury experience.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, Monday to Friday in the Newcastle office, with hybrid working available.

About the role:

  • Running a caseload of mid-value personal injury claims
  • Providing knowledge of legal procedures, including issuing and service proceedings, directions timetables, ADR and trial experience in obtaining factual and expert evidence
  • Liaising with counsel and experts appropriately and professionally
  • Drafting schedules of loss including heads of future loss
  • Reviewing files and reporting regularly to clients, team leaders etc
  • Assessing cases merits against liability and gathering evidence
  • Completing Schedules of Special Damages
  • Issuing proceedings and proceeding through litigation to settlement or Trial
  • Preparing cases for Trial including Briefs to Counsel

About you:

  • Proven experience in serious injury/multi track litigation
  • Knowledge of legal concepts and good drafting skills
  • Strong understanding of quantum issues
  • Client care skills & excellent attention to detail
  • IT literate in MS Office and knowledge of time recording software
