Logistics Coordinator - Newcastle - Up to 35,000

Our client, who are a international logistics company are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to join their growing team in Newcastle, UK
As Logistics Coordinator, you will be tasked to Coordinate and arrange transportation of goods via all transport modes and dealing with customs and shipping documentation in line with client directives and standard operating procedures

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday - 09:00am to 17:30pm

Salary: Up to 35,000 DOE

Responsibility:

  • Facilitate the transportation of goods from one destination to another, including arranging transportation and orchestrating deliveries to meet internal and external customer demands, with a proactive approach to minimise delays and operational impact.
  • Create customs and shipping documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and clearance instructions in line with relevant requirements for imports and exports.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations for all clients.
  • Obtain export and import entries to complete logistics files required to satisfy audit requirements.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders to ensure efficient movement of goods.
  • Manage clients' HMRC records where required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and a thorough understanding of HMRC regulations, Incoterms, and customs commodity codes.
  • Attend loadout meetings and advise on all aspects of logistics and customs matters.
  • Conduct customs compliance checks on import and export entries and handle amendments with HMRC.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in logistics, importing, exporting, customs, or similar roles, covering air, sea, and road shipments.
  • Strong experience with customs procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to adapt to operational demands; must effectively prioritise tasks and manage fluctuating workloads.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in processing and checking information.
