The Role of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

They are looking to strengthen their design team with a Mechanical Design Engineer

Here’s how:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and parts for use in complex machinery.
  • Respond to technical requests from customers, including adjustments and upgrades to existing machinery.
  • Work on design adjustments and redesigns to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Produce high-quality 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks / 3D CAD.
  • Support the conversion of designs into practical parts ready for production.
  • Provide occasional onsite support, including customer visits, service work, and site surveys (rare, with full risk assessments in place).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and innovative engineering solutions.

About the Mechanical Design Engineer:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Mechanical Design or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years’ mechanical design experience, ideally within machinery, capital equipment, or a related engineering field.
  • Proven experience designing mechanical parts, systems, and assemblies.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or other 3D CAD packages.
  • Ability to produce designs suitable for part production and manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Good communication skills and confidence liaising with customers and colleagues.
