Leader Education are recruiting for a Primary Teacher to work at a mainstream Primary School based in Newcastle. The successful teacher will be compassionate, patient and hold a qualified teacher status (QTS) as well as some relevant experience working alongside young people aged 3 to 11, some of whom may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:30am until 3:30pm and is a long-term position

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or the willingness to obtain one
  • Teaching children in Key Stage 2
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A qualified teacher status (QTS)
  • Some experience working with or alongside pupils that may exhibit some elements of SEND
  • A compassionate, resilient and patient personality
  • A great understanding of safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
  • Be familiar with some tailored interventions and programmes that are used to support children and young people experiencing struggles with additional needs
