The Firm:

A small local accountancy firm on the outskirts of Newcastle offering accounting and advisory services to local SME clients are looking to appoint a Payroll Specialist to oversee payroll bureau services on behalf of their clients. The Role:

A hands-on position that will require you to take responsibility for the end to end payroll services to a portfolio of c200 clients with weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll on Sage. You will supervise one part-time member of staff and ensure that all client queries are dealt with and payments made in a timely manner. You will find the role affords plenty of autonomy and allows you to run the payroll function as you see appropriate. Experience:

  • Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years payroll experience, preferably with exposure to working in a payroll bureau or accountancy firm where they have previously managed multiple payrolls at any one time.
  • You will have a sound technical knowledge of all aspects of payroll including year end and pension payments.
  • You will be a confident user of Sage having previous experience of processing payrolls on this application.
  • Your communication skills will be strong and you will be comfortable liaising with business owners regarding their queries,
