Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting our client with the appointment of a Service Support Engineer to join a high-performing service team supporting global subsea operations. This position plays a key role in delivering front-line engineering support for subsea services, focusing on both technical planning and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities are but not limited to the following:
- Act as the primary point of contact for technical service requests, supporting both internal teams and external clients for all field service requests.
- Provide engineering input for the planning and execution of service scopes, with a focus on subsea power.
- Assessing Customer needs and compiling the technical scope of work which can form part of the commercial bid. This is to include the method, materials, manning and skill requirements.
- Create and review technical documentation such as procedures, method statements, and site reports.
- Support the preparation and coordination of field service activities, including technician logistics.
- Participate in a structured on-call rota to provide 24/7 technical assistance as needed.
- Maintain compliance with company HSEQ procedures and contribute to the achievement of quality and certification standards.
- Assist in the development of team training plans and internal upskilling initiatives.
- Identify and implement improvements to service processes, tools, and documentation.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of technical reports and expense documentation.
- Support the Company initiatives to gain and retain ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditations.
Requirements:
Essential:
- A recognised technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic engineering.
- Practical experience with power cables, especially in offshore renewable energy projects (termination, repair, splicing, testing).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong ability to write clear, technical documentation.
- UK passport and full driving licence.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 & 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
Desirable:
- GWO certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in subsea cable or umbilical services.
- Background in offshore support, energy services, or field-based engineering.
- Exposure to lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
