Following the recent award of a major infrastructure programme in the North East, a leading cost consultancy are looking to secure the services of a Senior Quantity Surveyor, with experience of using the NEC contract, to join their team in Newcastle.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of quantity surveying on the programme
  • Using the NEC form of contract, specifically option A, to ensure project compliance
  • Conducting cost control and budgeting for the infrastructure project
  • Providing detailed financial reports and accurate cost forecasting
  • Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression
  • Ensuring effective contract administration and management
  • Implementing risk management strategies to mitigate any potential financial risks
  • Supporting project teams with commercial guidance and advice


Job Requirements:

  • Significant experience in quantity surveying within a major infrastructure market (rail, energy, oil & gas, defence etc)
  • Proven experience with the NEC option A contract is essential
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and management
  • Excellent cost control and financial management skills
  • Ability to produce detailed financial reports and cost forecasts
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant qualification
