My client, a national Tier 1 main contractor who operate in the new-build construction sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Tyne & Wear. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business with a strong name and excellent reputation in the construction industry.

Your main duties will include:

  • Reporting to the commercial manager, you will be responsible for several projects smaller projects at one time or one larger scheme up to 30m
  • Working alongside the operations and site delivery team to ensure project viability and cost effectiveness
  • Monitor and report all project costs/finances
  • Cash-flow forecasting
  • Sub-contractor, labour and materials management (placing orders, invoices, price negotiation etc)
  • Be responsible for cost changes and monitoring throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Final accounts

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Experience of working in a main-contracting environment
  • Have worked on new-build projects valued up to and over, 15m
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Be proficient with IT
