Job Description

Job Title:Room Attendant/Cleaner

Location: Great North Hotel

Position Reports To:Head Housekeeper

Main Job Purpose & Scope

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the bedrooms, public areas, function facilities and toilet areas throughout the hotel, ensuring guest comfort and care.

Key Areas of Personal Responsibility and Accountability

To clean and service the bedrooms allocated to you by the housekeeper on duty to the standard expected.

To carry out spring cleaning of bedrooms as required.

To clean and replenish all public areas, function facilities and toilet areas as and when requested.

To report any lost property and room keys found in bedrooms to the housekeeper on duty.

To ensure all cleaning materials are used economically and according to manufacturers instructions.

To report any suspicious persons to the housekeeper on duty.

To ensure bedroom doors are closed to prevent theft.

To ensure security of keys at all times and to hand all keys to the housekeeper on duty before going off duty.

To report maintenance faults to the housekeeper on duty.

To inform the housekeeper on duty of any comments made by guests, and to assist guests in any way possible.

To promote a helpful and professional image within the department, ensuring full co-operation is given to colleagues in other departments.

Other Responsibilities/Deputising Requirements

To work in a caring manner, showing regard for health and safety, fire safety and COSHH regulations.

To ensure you arrive on duty at the correct time and that your personal appearance is well groomed. To ensure the correct uniform and shoes are worn, and that these are clean and well maintained.

To undertake special duties or work outside the normal routine but within the overall scope of your position at the request of the manager or assistant manager.

Measurement of Performance

Successful undertaking of all duties and responsibilities.

Maintaining high levels of accuracy of own work.

Positive contribution towards Group Values.

Achievement of key objectives/KPIs in line with negotiated targets.
