International Business Development Manager (Engineering)

We are working with a manufacturing company in Durham who are looking for someone with an inquisitive mindset, excellent communication skills and who enjoys chasing down opportunities. This company operate within international engineering/manufacturing markets.

They are looking for someone who enjoys international travel, occassionally short notice. You will be experienced taking a consultive sales approach, producing tenders for main contractors and government bodies internationally.

Brief role outline

  • You will Identify and develop new business opportunities across international markets within a defined sector.
  • Communicating with government authorities, design consultants, contractors, OEMs, and clients worldwide.
  • Attend and exhibit at international trade shows, client visits, and trade missions (annually)
  • Provide technical sales support, guiding clients from initial inquiry to final product selection.
  • Manage the sales process from inquiry to quotation, ensuring accurate pricing and margin calculations in multiple currencies.
  • Follow up on inquiries, pull together tenders, and generate new leads.

Background

  • Previous relevant experience selling manufactured/engineered products
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to recognise when to sell versus when to focus on relationship building.
