We are looking for a Social Care Officer to join a respected Family Time Service in Newcastle. The organisation is dedicated to helping children and their families spend safe, meaningful, and positive time together. You'll be part of a passionate and supportive team committed to ensuring children feel safe, happy, and heard.
Key Responsibilities


  • Support and supervise Family Time sessions between children and their parents or immediate family members.

  • Build positive relationships with children, families, foster carers, and schools.

  • Transport children to and from their sessions in a safe and reliable way.

  • Observe and record Family Time sessions, offering guidance to families when needed.

  • Share clear information with Social Workers to support family assessments.

  • Help create a safe, fun, and supportive environment for children and families during their time together.


Key Requirements


  • Experience working with children, young people, or families-especially those who may be vulnerable or facing challenges.

  • Strong communication and observation skills.

  • Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

  • Reliable, organised, and confident working independently.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.

  • Full driving licence and ability to transport children safely.


Contract Length: 3-6 months with a view to extend to an ongoing contract.
Pay Rate: 16-20
Working pattern - 37 hours per week
