BSL Support Worker

We're looking for compassionate and committed BSL Support Workers to join a person-centred team supporting two 23-year-old men with profound deafness, non-verbal communication, and learning disabilities. They are moving into a supported living service this summer after finishing college.

As a BSL Support Worker, you'll empower them to live fulfilling, independent lives through daily support, communication assistance, and community activities.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide 1:1 or 2:1 care in a supported living environment

  • Use BSL, VOCA devices, symbol boards & visual tools

  • Support with personal care, medication & health appointments

  • Encourage life skills: cooking, cleaning, managing routines

  • Facilitate outings like swimming, gaming, deaf club & more

  • Help build confidence, independence & community inclusion

About You:

  • Experience with learning disabilities and/or communication needs

  • BSL skills preferred (training provided)

  • Patient, reliable, and empathetic

  • Comfortable using assistive communication tools

  • Able to work shifts, including two weekends/month

  • Pay rise to 15.01 after BSL training

  • Set rotas 2-3 months ahead

  • 20 days leave + bank holidays (pro-rated)
