1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Temporary) - Newcastle
Catch Up Academy

Catch Up Academy is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in Newcastle with Special Educational Needs (SEN), SEMH, and medical needs.

About the Role:
You will work on a one-to-one basis, supporting learners who require tailored, compassionate support outside of mainstream settings. Our students may have SEN, SEMH needs, or be unable to attend school due to medical needs.

Pay:
13 - 16 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours:
Flexible - to suit your availability
Temporary work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to SEN, SEMH, or medically vulnerable students

  • Help students engage with learning and build confidence

  • Follow individual learning and support plans

  • Work collaboratively with Catch Up Academy staff and families

Requirements:

  • Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH students (preferred)

  • A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
