Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher:

  • Teach Maths across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially KS5
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective maths lessons
  • Support students to achieve and exceed their academic targets
  • Create a positive and focused classroom environment
  • Mark and assess work in line with school policies
  • Support the wider maths department in curriculum planning
  • Attend department meetings and contribute to whole school improvement
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers

Requirements for the Maths Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience teaching maths in UK secondary schools
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum in maths
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for mathematics and helping students succeed
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
