FULL TIME SEN Learning Support Assistant - Newham - ASAP - After Easter Break

Salary: 88-104 per day

Timeplan Education are looking for strong, dynamic, and resilient FULL TIME Learning Support Assistants to work at an SEN school in the borough of Newham. This role will start after the easter holidays.

Job Requirements

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 and group support to students with diverse needs, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning disabilities
  • Assisting students in achieving their individual EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) targets
  • Supporting teaching staff in delivering a well-structured curriculum adapted to each student's specific requirements
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and assisting with the implementation of behaviour management strategies
  • Helping students engage in sensory activities, tailored to suit their learning needs and preferences

The Ideal Candidate Must Have:

  • Experience working within a SEN or educational setting, ideally with children or young adults with special needs or be open to completing relevant training regarding working within SEN environments.
  • A strong understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning disabilities
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, encouraging a sense of independence and self-confidence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for working collaboratively with the team, students, and parents.
