SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Newham
Location: Newham
Pay: £90 - £105 per day

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Newham is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately.

Key Responsibilities of an SEN TA:

  • Provide morning support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, including ADHD and emotional regulation challenges

  • Work flexibly in the afternoons across Key Stage 1 and 2

  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment

  • Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions

  • Support students’ emotional well-being and academic development

  • Assist with personal care tasks, including nappy changing, if required

What We’re Looking From the SEN TA:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures

  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Relevant training or qualifications in education or SEN (preferred but not essential)
