GSL Education are delighted to offer an opportunity for a proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision class in a fantastic school in Newham, Plaistow.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with diverse SEN needs.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Work alongside teachers and SEN specialists to deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA):

  • Previous experience in SEN or behavioural support.
  • Ability to support children with high-level needs.
  • Resilient, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Passion for helping students overcome challenges and succeed.
  • A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
