Sonic Summary

ACS is recruiting for a Design Engineer with a salary of £40,000 to £50,000 per year.
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in product development.
Key responsibilities include leading product development, creating designs using SolidWorks, and ensuring designs are manufacturable.
Essential skills required include proficiency in SolidWorks, knowledge of DFM, and experience with BoM management.
The role also involves collaboration with various teams, conducting competitor analysis, and supporting regulatory audits.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and support new product development and in-market product enhancements
Create product concepts, estimates, and detailed 2D/3D designs using SolidWorks
Ensure designs are ready for manufacturing, with emphasis on DFM (Design for Manufacturing)
Generate and manage technical documentation, including drawings and BoMs
Support testing, product validation, and implementation of design improvements
Conduct competitor analysis and share insights with internal stakeholders
Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, QA, and Engineering teams
Attend exhibitions and deliver technical training when needed
Contribute to the design team's process improvement and patent opportunities
Participate in and support regulatory audits (ISO, CE, WRAS, etc.)

Requirements:Essential:

Proficiency in SolidWorks 2D/3D CAD
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFM
Experience with BoM management, prototyping, and data analysis
Ability to work across disciplines (electronics, firmware, software)
Strong communication skills and ability to support internal/external stakeholders

Desirable:

Experience in injection moulding design
Basic skills in using machine tools (lathe, mill)
