About the role 

The DS Smith customer service team are a dynamic and vibrant mix of professionals who focus on delivering the sales strategy, goals and performance whilst working to delight our customers by showcasing our sustainable and innovative packaging solutions - The customer service team are the face of our business and our biggest ambassadors!

We are looking for an enthusiastic, pro-active, and self-motivated individual to join the UK Packaging Division as a Customer Service Co-ordinator. As a natural ‘people-person’, you will thrive on networking daily with existing and potential customers to support the administrative account management process for our Fordham site by being our point of call for our customer base.

Working closely with Sales and Site teams across the business, being organised with fantastic attention to detail is vital to this role as you will ensure all process information and reporting both internally and customer facing is accurate and updated as needed. There is a strong focus on account management: from ensuring all customer documentation is accurate to keeping Sales and Site teams updated on progress and any issues. This role also supports reviewing artwork and tooling origination as well as inventory management to ensure a pro-active approach to forecast, replenishment orders and reducing warehouse stock.

This role is a central part of our site team and deals with lots of different information, so being able to interact with a variety of stakeholders and internal partners is key to being successful in this role – no 2 days are the same! You will also be liaising directly with customers on orders, inventory, costs and complaints - so a perfect role for a natural people-person.

About you  

  • Relevant customer facing experience – ideally within a B2B or B2C environment however experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Able to work independently but also comfortable building strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders around the business
  • A positive and can-do attitude
  • Strong organisational skills with proven ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time
  • Computer literate, especially on Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, etc)

Location:  This is a full-time role based in our site in Fordham, Monday to Friday with the working hours 9am-5pm with the potential of hybrid options in the future.
