Senior Site Engineer / Section Engineer - Newmarket, Suffolk (Prison Project)

Are you an experienced and highly motivated Senior/Section Engineer looking for your next challenging role? We are seeking a dedicated Senior Site Engineer or Section Engineer to join our team on a significant prison project in Newmarket, Suffolk. This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in a long-term earthworks and groundworks scheme.

The Role:

As a Senior Site Engineer or Section Engineer, you will be integral to the successful delivery of our earthworks and groundworks package.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting Out: Accurate and efficient setting out of all groundworks and earthworks elements.
  • Inspections, Test Plans (ITPs) & Quality Assurance (QA): Overseeing and documenting the quality of work, ensuring adherence to specifications, and maintaining comprehensive ITPs and QA records.
  • Site Meetings: Representing the company in site meetings, collaborating with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Support: Providing technical guidance and support to the site team, resolving any engineering challenges that arise.
  • Documentation: Maintaining accurate site records, diaries, and progress reports.
  • Health & Safety: Promoting and enforcing high standards of health and safety on site.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Section Engineer on earthworks and groundworks projects.
  • Strong understanding of ITPs and QA procedures.
  • Proficient in setting out techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently participate in meetings.
  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a wider project team.
  • Crucially, due to the nature of the project, a valid and clear Enhanced DBS check is essential.
