My client is a leading manufacturer, working with the biggest brands in the industry. The purpose of this role is to oversee the end-to-end development of packaging solutions, from initial concept through to full-scale production. This position includes supervising a junior team member while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, manufacturing, and procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and fulfil all packaging requirements for new and existing product developments, ensuring alignment with customer needs and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate with customers to interpret packaging requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
  • Provide expert guidance on packaging materials, design considerations, and technical feasibility to enhance product quality and reduce risks.
  • Source, evaluate, and develop packaging solutions that meet cost targets, supplier capabilities, and factory constraints.
  • Maintain strong relationships with engineers and factory teams to ensure packaging selections align with production capabilities.
  • Create, update, and communicate detailed packaging specifications, including technical drawings and labelling requirements.
  • Ensure packaging meets all supply chain requirements, from primary to tertiary packaging, safeguarding product integrity until it reaches the consumer.
  • Conduct packaging trials, tests, and pre-production assessments to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Strong technical expertise with hands-on experience in packaging processes and material applications.
  • Proven ability to independently manage tasks while effectively overseeing and guiding a junior team member.
  • Upholds professionalism and integrity when collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
