A notable firm of accountants who are easily reached from Ely and Bury St Edmunds are looking to expand their payroll team and are open to hiring at various levels, from Assistant up to Assistant Manager level. The firm are ideally seeking someone who is after a full-time position but can be flexible to accommodate for 30 hours a week.

The Role

In this diverse role, you'll be part of a small, fast-paced team, managing multiple payrolls for a broad client base across industries including manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, professional services, and retail. They handle over 300 payrolls, supporting clients from single-director businesses to companies with up to 200 employees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse client portfolio
  • Handling BACs payment submissions
  • Liaising directly with clients to ensure smooth payroll operations
  • Resolving payroll-related queries efficiently and professionally
  • Maintaining adherence to payroll deadlines and schedules
  • Overseeing and improving payroll processes (for managerial candidates)
  • Managing and mentoring payroll team members (for managerial candidates)
