PHP and Case Management Developer - Hybrid - 3 days on site - 2 days wfh

Purpose

To develop and maintain PHP-based applications, including our Case Management System built on Zoho Desk, and to support integration efforts with other internal and external systems.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a PHP Developer looking to gain hands-on experience in application development while also working on a business-critical Case Management System.

Background to role

We are a leading vehicle company who has recently been acquired by one of the largest banks in the UK. This person will be joining the business at an exciting time, as we look to rebuild systems and support a huge growth in fleet size.

As part of our IT development strategy, we are seeking a PHP Developer with a few years of experience to help maintain and develop PHP-based applications, as well as assist with the configuration and maintenance of our Zoho Desk system.

The role will involve working closely with end users across multiple departments and developing APIs to integrate with Zoho Desk.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and enhance PHP applications (both inhouse back office and customer-facing web portals) and scripts.

Work with end users to configure and manage Zoho Desk, ensuring optimal functionality for case management.

Develop and maintain PHP-based APIs to integrate with Zoho Desk and other internal/external systems. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure smooth integration between PHP applications and existing IT infrastructure.

Ensure security, performance, and scalability of PHP applications.

Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely manner.

Document processes and code changes effectively.

Experience:

2+ years of experience in PHP development.

Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL.

Experience in developing PHP applications running on either Apache or Nginx.

Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.

Understanding of authentication systems like OAuth 2.0.

Experience with source control systems such as Git.

Knowledge of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.

Experience with Zoho Desk or other case management systems is advantageous but not required.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with different departments.

Experience using development tools such as Visual Studio Code.

Experience managing and building PHP programs in Docker environments.
