Electrical Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing

Location: Newport, South Wales

Salary: £42,500

Shift: Double Days- Monday to Friday

Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Join a global manufacturer with a strong local presence and a reputation for innovation, quality, and sustainability. Our Newport-based facility is a high-volume production site with over 400 staff and a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

We are currently recruiting a Electrical Engineer to join the site's skilled maintenance team, ensuring production uptime through proactive and reactive electrical maintenance on a wide range of equipment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to breakdowns and perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Electrical fault finding, repair, and troubleshooting on manufacturing machinery
  • Support projects and improvement initiatives
  • Work in accordance with health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Ensure site cleanliness and uphold high housekeeping standards
  • Issue work permits and oversee contractor compliance
  • Work collaboratively across teams to achieve production goals

What You'll Need:

  • Time-served/apprentice-trained with relevant electrical qualifications

Experience with:

  • MustAC/DC drives, inverters, and power electronics
  • PLC fault finding
  • Electromechanical and optical sensors
  • Industrial electrical installation and safe isolation procedures
  • Computer-based maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of Fanuc robots (desirable)
  • Strong fault-finding/problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of safe systems of work (e.g., lockout/tagout)
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
