Our client based in Newport is recruiting for an Electrical Equipment Desing Engineer to join their equipment engineering team dedicated to providing automation solutions for the integration of process systems into factories worldwide. They are seeking an experienced Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer with a comprehensive understanding of electrical and electronic design with experience working in a highly regulated industry.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Design electrical and electronic control interfaces.
  • Develop electrical assembly designs and electrical enclosures using Solid Edge.
  • Create wiring harness and AC/DC power distribution circuit designs.
  • Engage in analogue and digital circuit design.
  • Conduct fault finding and problem-solving activities.
  • Design critical safety circuits to comply with EN13849.
  • Write technical reports and produce engineering drawings, build, and test guides.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in an electrical/electronic design role.
  • Strong understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EU harmonized standards, EN60204, EN13849 essential.
  • Familiarity with UL/NFPA regulations.
  • Experience in designing safety circuits.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent.
  • 3D CAD experience is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and fault-finding skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
