Maintenance Electrician

Newport, Wales

Full Time, Permanent.

3 Shift Pattern 06:00-14:00, 14:00- 22:00 & 22:00- 06:00

Shorter day on Fridays (06:00- 11:00, 16:00- 21:00 & 23:00- 04:00)

58,000 + Benefits (overtime paid at x1.5 & x2)

Salary includes 1 weekend in 4 working 06:00-12:00 Saturday, 06:00- 14:00 Sunday) & Holiday cover which results in working 12 hour shifts throughout the year.

The site is part of a broader network of facilities and utilises advanced automation and digital technologies to deliver efficient, eco-conscious manufacturing. Known for their focus on recycling and circular economy principles, the facility plays a key role in supplying packaging to various sectors, including food and beverage, consumer goods, and industrial markets.

We are currently looking to add a electrical maintenance engineer/maintenance electrician to the team on a full time, permanent basis. Working as part of the maintenance engineering team, your responsibilities will include:

Reactive maintenance- fault finding and repairing electrical systems

Completing planned maintenance schedules

Installation and commissioning of new machinery/systems

Supervising contractors

Owning the mechanical elements of the machinery alongside the production operations team.

Requirements:

Qualified in a relevant electrical engineering discipline (Level 3 or above)

Previous experience working in a manufacturing maintenance position

Strong fault diagnosis and repair skills on electrical systems.

Heavy industry manufacturing or process environment experience- (examples of heavy industry: steel works, recycling, power generation, aggregates/building products, chemical)

Some titles that are relevant to the role: electrical engineer, electrical craftsman, maintenance engineer, electrical technician and more.
